Detroit Golf Club’s North Course Now Playable in Full Swing® Before It Opens

Detroit Golf Club is entering a new chapter, and for the first time, members will be able to experience its newly renovated North Course before physically stepping onto it.

Through a collaboration between Detroit Golf Club, SoundCheck, and Full Swing®, the redesigned North Course has been laser scanned and integrated into the Full Swing® simulation platform. Full Swing users will be able to play Detroit Golf Club’s North Course virtually, even before its official reopening.

For members training inside the club’s Golf Training Center, that experience is already becoming a reality.

A New Era for Detroit Golf Club

As part of a major renovation project, Detroit Golf Club has redesigned its North Course, a course that also hosts the PGA Tour’s Rocket Classic.

Rather than waiting until reopening to experience the layout, members can now step inside the club’s golf training center and play the course virtually using two Full Swing simulators installed by SoundCheck.

This allows members to:

  • Learn the new routing
  • Study green complexes
  • Test yardages
  • Practice course management
  • Prepare strategically for future play

It is a rare opportunity to preview a championship level course before it officially reopens.

The Technology Behind the Experience

To make this possible, the North Course was professionally laser scanned and digitally recreated within the Full Swing platform. This process captures precise elevation changes, bunker placement, green contours, and architectural detail, creating an experience that closely mirrors real world play.

Detroit Golf Club and SoundCheck worked directly with Full Swing to bring the project to life, ensuring the course was accurately modeled and properly integrated into the system.

The result is a simulation experience that reflects the design intent of the newly renovated course.

Installed by SoundCheck

Detroit Golf Club partnered with SoundCheck to design and install two Full Swing simulators inside the club’s Golf Training Center.

The installation provides:

  • Professional grade ball and club data
  • High resolution course rendering
  • A refined training environment for members
  • A seamless integration into the club’s existing space

The simulators allow members to train, compete, and now preview the renovated North Course in a controlled indoor environment.
