Giving fans an unforgettable golf experience—and giving back to Detroit youth

On June 25th, SoundCheck teed up something special at the Rocket Classic’s Pro-Am. We brought our Full Swing Golf Simulator right to the patio of the Clubhouse, transforming a casual corner into the weekend’s most entertaining competition: Closest to the Pin – with a charitable twist.

Golfers, NFL players, and fans alike stepped into the virtual tee box to take their shot at glory (and do some good along the way). Each contestant had three tries to land the ball as close to the pin as possible on Payne’s Valley Hole 19, with the leaderboard updating in real time. Dozens lined up to test their swing, cheer each other on, or just check out the simulator’s ultra-realistic gameplay.
But it wasn’t just about golf.
Detroit Lions punter Jack Fox took things to a whole new level, using the simulator to kick virtual field goals (yes, really).
Others tried the football QB target challenge and even a few kid-friendly games. We had more than 100 people participate, with even more stopping by to watch, play, and ask questions about how SoundCheck brings this next-level entertainment setup into homes and businesses across Michigan.
At stake? A $1,000 donation to the winner’s charity of choice.
And with a jaw-dropping shot that landed just 1.79 feet from the pin, pro golfer Noah Goodwin clinched the win. His selected nonprofit? First Tee – Greater Detroit, an organization that empowers youth through golf and life skills.

We’re proud to support their mission and even prouder to have made this event both memorable and meaningful.
